When the freeze was finally made official upon their return, the vengeance of the dream no longer had any outlet. He wonders if the old man was just trying to develop a device to help him with his vision loss. The old man's name was Sorum, and he was an older brother to his younger sister Maria. One day, Sorum told Maria that he wanted to join the Survey Corps. Maria was against joining the garrison, but sorum's reason was to save humanity. The young man wonders how far Sorum was able to go beyond the wall.
