In this short scene, Roxane laments the fact that she has arranged a marriage without asking for it. She blames herself for arranging the marriage because she thinks that the man is lying about his sex. She tells Roxane that she is ashamed of her parents for allowing her to go to a university so far away from home. She also criticizes Roxane for sending her to such a university. She says that she and Roxane are the happiest people in her life after leaving home and going to university. Roxane admits that she sometimes cries out of sadness, but that she does not think that it is a bad thing. She thinks that it must be the man's "influence" that makes him happy
