Now that she's with him, the narrator feels lonely. She feels like she can't really talk to him because he's such a nice guy. She's not sure what to say to him now that they're back in the States. She tells him she'll have to wait it out. She also tells him that she bought a lot of souvenirs at the mall. She says that she doesn't know how to talk to her friend about what's going on in her life, because she'd rather not talk about it with him. The narrator also tells her that her friend likes to eat a lot, and that's why she likes to make food for her. She then tells her friend that she wants to go for a bath, but that she has to lie to her family about what she did. She asks her friend if she still wants to deny it, and the narrator tells her to clench her fists. She wants to tell her family that she didn't lie to them, and she wants them to know that she really wants to be with the man she loves, even if it means lying to them about it. She adds that her family has had some bad luck, and if she hadn't told her about it, she wouldn't have been so angry.
