Back at the palace, we find Claudius scolding his servant, Aelfrem, for showing himself to be so ashamed of himself. Alfrem tells Claudius that he's still earning his living by being a lowly servant. Claudius is all, "Gee, that's a shame. I'd like to get out of this business." We learn that the servant's name is "Zirconius" and that he is the illegitimate son of the Duke of Guise. We also learn that his mother is "noma" , which means "safe" in Latin. We're also told that the Duke's daughter, "Reina," has come to fetch her father. She wants to use his magic powers to "make love to you" . The Duke tells her to go ahead and use her powers, but first he has to talk to her. He tells her that he heard that she might have been hurt if he hadn't sealed his magic. He says that if he didn't, she'd be able to transfer her feelings to someone else. He also says that he wouldn't want to be near her, because he'd have to wait for someone else to take her place in the palace. He asks her to kiss him, and she agrees.
