In this short scene, Desdemona tells the audience that she has come to find out what has happened to the king. She tells him that he has lapsed, and that she suspects him of being the one who has done it. She then tells him to rummage around the room and see what is wrong with the king's clothes. She also says that she knows that he is trying to get rid of her, and she is going to use her magic powers to do so.
