In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the pickled cabbage. He tells us that he is still hopeless, and that he would still be a hopeless person if he did not do something. He is afraid that if he does anything, he will still be hopeless. He tries to stop her from running away, but she catches up to him and shoots him in the back. The people around him are screaming, "swish" and "whoosh" , and they are trying to get her to stop running away. They are also trying to find out who these people are, and why they cant understand what they are saying.
