The narrator tells us that he's sorry that he can't invite mira to dinner at his hotel. He's so embarrassed that he doesn't even know how to leave the room. He tells her that they have a reservation for her to sit at the very top of the hotel's dining room, which means that she's going to have to stay in the room and pay for the food. The narrator is all, "I've already prepared the money" . He goes on to say that if he couldn't pay his bill after eating, then he could stay at the hotel and wash dishes to pay it off. He also says that the union's sons and daughters are coming back to the hotel, and they're all very excited to see them. He says that he managed to slip away from the front of the room because the real heroes of the union look like him. He then says that this is the way the young master treats his customers, even if it's the lieutenant colonel. He adds that the fatso is trembling because he knows that his master is trying to protect him. The fatso, he says, is the guy who always brings him tea and water, and lets him bully him all the time, by looking after him from behind.
