This is a locked chapterChapter 2: The Adventures of a Fatso Who Has Escaped the Battlefield (Part 2)
About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that fatso has learned a trick from the bear-like instructor during his scout training: he can use his breathing mask to mask his heart rate so that he won't be detected by the radar or the infrared. This trick could easily kill the senior officer of the enemy, but it's too dangerous for him, and he doesn't want to think of it. He can't even think about it, because he's afraid that the officer will be killed too, or that the poisoned water source will also be poisoned. He also worries about whether or not the union army's airplanes are still alive, and whether he can find a uniform that fits him. He's got to find a way to escape, because the enemy soldiers have found him and are holding two prisoners. He has no choice, he says, but to kill the enemy soldier. He tells the soldiers to behave themselves, because this is the only way he can escape. He says that he'll kill the soldier if he hears any kind of noise, and if he makes a sound, it'll be his last grave. He swears that this will be his final grave, and the soldiers should do what they can to finish him off. He wants to change into the uniform of the imperial army, but the soldier is too stout for him to do so, so he slaps him and tells him to get away from him.
