About This Chapter
In this chapter, Galamandis explains that he has been giving him a special diet: the collared snake's gall bladder, which helps strengthen his physical fitness if he bathes in cold water. He also explains that the fish soup they have been eating is so good that he hasn't been able to eat for a month. He asks if he can learn his magic tricks now that they've left the dangling mountain range. He says that he needs to first learn how to turn ice and fire before he can use his magic knife to learn other types of magic. He then asks if they can immediately head to the city of the aolan empire, which is the capital of one of the great empires. He's still hungry, though, and wonders if they'll be able to give him enough food to last them for three days before they reach the city. He complains that he's now penniless because he didn't bring any money with him. He wonders if someone is trying to rob them ahead of time. He wants to know what they can do to steal his money. He tells them to stop talking nonsense and he'll let them go. Then they can see what he can do. He calls him a "martial saint" and tells him that he can't do anything except perform his strongest magic.
