Back at the restaurant, the kid asks if he can challenge Zong Ming to a cook-off. The kid tells him that he has to win over his two disciples first, and that they will have no chance to do so because of magic. Zung Ming tells the kid that he's going to host the cooking-off at his restaurant, which means that the kid will have to prepare the food for him. After half an hour, they'll decide the winner of the cooking competition. Zing Ming says that he doesn't need the kid's help on anything, because he just wants to have a good time. He says that after parting with his master, he'll let the kid taste his ice-and-fire feast. He's also on a journey to develop his martial arts, so he didn't have time to go to the school. He asks the kid why he came to the restaurant to challenge him. He explains that he came because he'd been avoiding the war and the orchid dream academy, and it's unlikely to resume in the meantime. He wants the kid to promise to kiss him after he wins, so that he won't hate him so much after the victory, and he can devote himself to cooking more delicious food
