About This Chapter
The giant dragon tells the humans that he's not going to join in on the fun. He's got a message for them: if they don't help him get back his meodus vial, he'll kill them all. He doesn't care if they fight or retreat, he just wants them to have fun with him. The humans should take some responsibility for the theft of the vial, but the giant dragon isn't so sure about that. He says that the dragon god gave the humans seven giant dragons so that they wouldn't be able to disrupt the balance of power between the humans and the giant dragons. In order to keep the humans from disrupting this balance, the humans were supposed to take the initiative and attack the dragons unless they were willing to do it themselves. If the humans want to help, they should do it. If they want to fight, they're supposed to fight back. But if the humans just want to get back their vial, then they should help. The dragon says that if they can't fight back, then he might consider releasing the humans. He wants to know what the humans have to offer in exchange for their lives. He asks if they have any food to trade, and they say that they do. He tells them that he wants to taste some of their delicacies, and if they are good cooks, he might trade them.
