In this chapter, we learn that Bingyue is in love with his daughter, Ling'er, and wishes that he could come back to the empire to help her. He asks his brother why he came back so soon, and he tells him that the master asked him to wait for him in the library so that he would be able to meet him when he got back. He also tells the boy that he changed his clothes for him the night before, so he owns him once. He thanks him for his kindness, and says that he hopes that he has real love for Long Ling. Long Ling asks the master if he knows why he is able to create so many different effects, and the master tells him it is because he has the same thing in mind. He tells Long Ling that he wants to be his teacher, but he didn't think the master would teach him a lesson first, and now he is doubting if he is qualified enough to become his master. He hopes that if he dies, the master will help him take care of Long Ling, and that he will make sure that Long Ling is happy. The master promises to return to Bingyue after eight years, at which time he will start his war against the Holy Ice Tower.
