The next morning, Ming hui asks his older brother about his cooking skills. Ming says that he's never seen his brother make fried ginger twists or donkey rolls, and that he hasn't met his senior brother for a long time. Ming also tells his brother that he has a lot of questions to ask about the brilliant chef, but that nian-bing doesn't care about these things. Ming chimes in that his brother is praising him too much, and Ming says, "I've never ever seen him praise anyone this much" . Ming then goes on to say that he owes a lot to his master, who taught him for 12 years. He also says that Ming is encouraging Ming to regain her confidence in herself.
