In this short scene, the protagonist is introduced to the director of the hotel where he works, and he is warmly welcomed by the other employees. He tells them that his boss, Hiroyuki San, has left the hotel and that the finance team is short staffed because of his departure. The protagonist tells the director that Mimaki Kun has been demoted and transferred from his position, and that he has not mentioned the matter to his supervisor. He also tells the story of the incident in which the protagonist's boss sent a memo to the entire company in which he accused the protagonist of stealing money from the company. He explains that he is angry at the situation because he wants to succeed in his private life and in his work life, but his boss does not allow him to take lunch breaks or leave the office for long periods of time. He says that he does not want to be a part of the company's "exploitative enterprise panicky" , which is why he has stopped the memo. He then tells the protagonist that he respects her as a hard-working woman and that she has a different personality from her boss.
