In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of characters, each with a different point of view. The first person we meet is the boss of a company, and he is very angry at his employees for receiving gifts from their clients. The second person is the rector of a church, and the third person is a bank employee. The boss tells the employees that they should not be in charge of the bank's accounts. He also tells them that he has a gift for them. It is a massager for their feet, and it is a present from the director of the company. He gives it to the rector as a birthday present.
