About This Chapter
The narrator asks the child why she did not tell him sooner about her aunty's illness. The child explains that she was afraid that she would be sad and that the father would not be able to bear it. The father has not lied to the narrator at all and has even allowed her to accuse him of lying. The narrator feels that she has fallen in love with the father. He holds her hand without asking her for an answer. She feels that he is waiting until the festival to give her an answer and wonders how she can fall for such a patient man like this. She tells him that they have finished shopping and that if he does not speak later, she will ignore him. He tells her that he has liked her since they were young and that sometimes he is arrogant and self-absorbed. He asks her if she is willing to continue liking him. She says that she knows everything about the six years that have passed and that she will do her best to make her happy.
