In this chapter, we learn that tuoyi has gone to the toilet with his "little ting" , and that his father has come to see him. He gives the money to his son, who is about to graduate from school and go abroad. He tells his son that he wants to give it to him first, but that he can't do so because he's going abroad in August. He asks his son if there's anything he'd like to do with the money, and the boy says that he would like to keep it for a long time. He also tells his father that he and his mother are getting more and more like each other. He says that his mother came back to him earlier and asked him to pay for his future studies, but he doesn't think that's a good idea, since he'll be responsible for his living expenses. He then asks his sister if she and her sister will get married, and she says that they can not, since their father rarely comes home, and their mother always fights with him. She also says that getting married is bad at all, since getting married isn't good at all. Her father remarried four years ago, and he gave her money, but she's not like that anymore, she says. She tells her sister that marriage is not a good thing, since it's hard for her father to come home and quarrel with his wife, and they even smash her "little raccoon" . She says that her father remarried and had a son, but gave her nothing for him, although his wife seems to protect him. Her sister is like that, too, because her father never comes home and her mother fights with her father.
