In this chapter, the reader is introduced to a new character named Shuko. Shuko is a student at an international school in Yuchuan, China, and she and her friend, the chatty girl behind her, are on their way to the school's closing ceremony. Shukko and Shuko have never met each other before, but Shuko tells Shuko that she is her only friend and that she can trust her completely. The two girls discuss their childhood friend, Mingyuan gao, who is a classmate of Shuko's. Mingyuan is thin, fair-skinned, and wears earphones all the time. They are interrupted by the arrival of a "cold pretty boy" , who has just arrived at the school.
