Three races are happening: the lunarians, the admirabilis, and the extraterrestrials. The machine has been repaired, and it's back to normal. The recognition step has been completed, but the machine is still not working. It's been 120 minutes since the last time it started working, and everyone is supposed to be back at home by now. Everyone's supposed to go back to their homes and eat their last meal before they leave for the moon. Lexi is bummed that he won't be able to check on his work when he's done studying on the lunar surface. He asks Lexi to help him make some food, but Lexi says he'll have to wait for someone else to come pick him up. The problem is that the machine can't control its power, which means that every human being will go to "nothingness" . This is why the machine refuses to pray, Lexi points out. He compares the machine to a "self" that is attached to the gems, which is like a self-fulfilling prophecy . He says the machine has created a "sense of self" , and that's why it refuses to ask for a prayer.
