About This Chapter
Cochlea is in a bad mood. He's not sure what to do, and he's worried about what Phoebe and Desdemona will do to him. He tries to calm down, but he can't, because they're both too busy trying to figure out how to get back to the moon. He tells them to stop bothering him, but they won't listen. He asks if they've been talking about his natural history, and they tell him that it's a perfect time to talk about it. He wants to know what's wrong with the rock, and if they can find it on another moon. They tell him to knock on the rock's door, and that it must be from another moon, because the rock doesn't look like it came from a moon at all. They also tell him not to take any shortcuts, because he'll have to deal with it seriously. He says he has a pressing matter to solve, and the rock is melting. He begs them to help him out, but no one will help him. They're all too busy to do anything, he tells them. He thinks that the rock must be a new weapon, designed to melt them and take them back to another moon . He wonders if they could still come back if they just waited for some luck, and then they'd be happy to just melt into nothing. He also wonders if the rock was just designed to capture the idiot, and to take him back to his moon.
