This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between Captain Strong and Maulvi. Strong tells Maulvi that he's going to have a fight with three of his men at once. He says that they've lost two of them in the chase, but that they can use this as an opportunity to get one of the men to chase down the other two. He also says that if they can get one man to chase them all, then they'll have a chance to get a shard of the moon back. Maulvi says that's a good idea, since the moon is full of diamonds. He's not sure why Maulvi and Strong aren't charming enough to attract the other men's attention. They're running late, he says, and the moon's too far away for them to catch a glimpse of them. They should hurry up and get the shard back.
