In this chapter, we learn that the girl in the dream was a student named Shimada Hideo, who was riding on a white horse. Shimada hido seemed to have an aura, or "something," that made him seem like a special person. The girl, however, was not a friend of Shimada's, and Shimada had no idea what he was talking about. He tells the girl that if he had told her everything, she would have been safer than anyone else. He also tells her that if she had told him everything, he would have lost Shimada, but if he hadn't been more aggressive, he'd lose Shimada. He asks Shimada if he thinks Shimada has changed a lot, but Shimada assures him that he hasn't, and that Shimada still seems like a "special person" to him. He then tells Shimada that he had surgery on his face, which Shimada says he didn't realize was real, but that he was joking around with Shimada when he was close by.
