Izumi and his father are in the middle of a conversation about the future. They're both worried about what's going to happen to their family. Izumi wants to know why his father hasn't called him back yet. He's worried that the monster is coming closer and closer, and he's afraid that the first one to strike will win. He tells his father that he never said it wouldn't be safe, and that's why he didn't cut his arm open when it first crawled into his hand. He also tells his mom that he was hiding something, and she asked him to tell her, but he doesn't want to, because he knows they're in a fight, and they need to get ready. He says that he'll tell his mom everything he was keeping a secret, but that he can't stop talking, because the monster has stolen his mom's head. The monster is going to kill both of them, he says, and the only thing he can do is to seal the hole in his chest and start moving blood through his body. He wants to go back to Izumi's house and make sure everything's okay.
