The narrator tells us that he and the other parasites have reached a "long way" . He tells us about the woman who met the man only a short time before. She had climbed into the man's car when the man asked her to. The narrator says that all parasites are cold and devoid of love. He says that the woman has a cold, a "mechanical heart" , and that she is devoid of passion. He asks the man what he was doing out there so early. The man says that he got lost and his collar was all red. He also says that his nose bleed was not worth calling the town, but that it made a nice change. He then tells the man that the body is rejecting him, and he says that they will have to go to Shinichi's house to take him there sometime. They say that the girl will be home the next day, and the man tells the narrator to be careful around the girl. He suggests that they send out a signal to the girl, but the narrator says the girl is not like the other girl he knows. He goes on to say that if he sent a signal within 50 yards of her, she would notice. He adds that he has to go get the police, because the monster is there.
