In the factory, alita asks if it was him who used the gun to kill the berserker. He replies that it was he who defeated the zapan. He says that under factory law, possession of weapons is a class offense and that he saved the city. Alita says that she is so cold that she must have had a dream. She tells him that he is in the gray room of the factory and that her brain cells are being beamed into his mind. She asks him why he is showing her this and he says that he will give her a new life and a new body. He tells her that they sent a thousand life forms to the sea to look for a potential personnel for their project and that she fought quite admirably but that she was not one of them. She says that the only way for her is for her to become a sacrifice and that they will become her tool and give her direction. She wants to go outside and find her future.
