In this chapter, we learn that the hero of the previous chapter has survived three ghost attacks. He's not a hero, he's an idol, and he needs to be killed if the authorities find out about his existence. The police chief, however, has ordered them not to say anything about the incident, and the narrator says that he'd rather be a puppet than a real person.
