The seventh witch chief comes back to the household and asks for a meal. He tells his father that the weather is bad and that he should stay indoors and not go out. The father tells him that the first time he saw someone rested for a trial, he was also frightened. The witch chief tells him to stay inside and not to go outside. He asks his father if he means to save all the creatures that are awaiting execution in the cage. His father says that he means only to save the ones that he has the confidence to kill with a blow to the head. The chief says that even if he were to open the cage with one blow, he would be inhibited by the cuffs on his body.
