The next morning, the three witches go to the graveyard to practice their new skills. The first witch, Lady kamor, explains that they're here to practice the laws of the universe, but that they don't have anything to do with practicing the seventh witch's laws. The second witch, Susan, tries to convince the third witch to join them, but she can't bring herself to do so. The third witch explains that if they go beyond the speed of the light, they can go back in time and try again. But if they fail, they'll have to try again in the future. The fourth witch points out that they need a place to sleep, and that's why they've decided to go to a graveyard instead of a castle or a castle in the snow. Susan says that the graveyard is too small for three people to sleep in, so they should prepare more tombs instead.
