In this chapter, Caixin and his family part ways. Caixin tells his sheep that they must become "delicious meals for others" . He tells them that his new baby lamb has been born only after he arrived in the city, and he hopes that he can bring the lamb back to the countryside in the future, as he has not seen his home before. He scolds his sisters for their cheap ways, and they all vow to help him. They tell Caixin that he is doing a good job with the props, and that he should ask his sisters to join him for a party on the night of the feast. They are all dressed up for the occasion, and Caixin asks them if they would like to join his party as well. They reply that they would, as both of them do not have many friends, and if they do join, perhaps they will all be happier. They all laugh at Caixin's ridiculous costumes, and laugh at his naivete.
