Berich wakes up to find that the door is locked and that the girl is sleeping on the floor instead of in his bed. He tells the girl that he's going to go take a shower and that he won't be able to save her even if she faints. He's really worried that she'll fall asleep in the hallway and wake him up in the middle of the night. He tries to get her to turn off the light, but she's too scared to do so. He even wears an eye mask so he can't see her clearly when he gets home.
