The narrator wakes up and declares that he's "someone with a boyfriend" . He asks his son what's going on, and the boy tells him that they're going to do "things that couples do" , like watch a movie, go to the haunted house, ride on the ferriwheels, play on the machine, and so on. The narrator decides to write down all of the things couples will do, and then he and his son will make a "syllable list" of what they'll do. The first thing he does is ask his son if he wants to taste his ice cream. The ice cream is "melting," and it's time for the ice cream to melt, so the two of them decide to "taste" each other's ice cream and then kiss each other on the cheek.
