This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the pavilion lord, in which he tells the audience that he has come to the city of Dongxi in order to help huayu and his sister. He tells them that he will look for them immediately after settling their business in the city. He also tells them about the gold necklace , which is of the highest quality, and how proud he is of his own pride. . The pavilion lord then tells huayyu that he is going to help him find the mastermind of his brother's murder, and he also tells him about the red packet of love pills that he gave . He says that if he and his friend consume the pills, they will be able to enter the imperial palace.
