This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which Caixue, the "famous ugly woman in the bian city," is being questioned by the "immoral priest" of the goddess temple, bu Xingtu, about her relationship with Caixin. The priest explains that he has come to ask for Caixin's help in healing Caixin, who is critically ill. He also wants Caixin to tell him more about her husband in order to gain more information about him in his "ecstasy." The priest, however, is not interested in Caixin; he wants to know what Caixin thinks of him, and he also wants to find out more about his wife. He tells Caixin that he is a "priest in goddess temple" and that his name is "Bu xingtu." He tells her that she is just a servant and that she should not oppose her master. He then tells her to stay away from Caixin because she is "stirring up trouble too." He then asks her why she wants to kill her husband, and she tells him that they have been married seven years.
