In this chapter, we learn that the woman in question is the same woman we met in the previous chapter. She's the same ugly woman we saw in the first chapter, and she's also the same person we saw at the end of the previous scene. She asks the man in question if he's okay, and the man says that he is, but that he accidentally struck his head. The woman asks him to give her the antidote, but the man doesn't want to give it to her. He's going to follow the man to find out what's up, and then he'll go back to his wife and tell her the whole story.
