In the middle of changing into her new clothes, Ming-ling notices that the two young men are acting strangely. He thinks that they have put on a spoke in their wheel to delay Ming's return to the mainland, and he wonders if they had put on the spokes to delay his arrival. He also thinks that Ming and Fu-zichen seem to be in a special bond, and that they should not be allowed to come to the banquet. He sends someone to tell Fu-Zichen to stay away from the banquet, and Ming-Ling tells him to take a seat on the left side of the room.
