When Lin learns of the death of the princess, he tries to convince himself that he is the one who killed the princess. He tells Lin that he was drinking with her when she died, but that he wasn't her murderer. Lin tells him that he has put poison on his earlobes, and Lin slaps him. Lin asks if he has lost his inner strength, and he replies that he did. Lin says that he knows him so well that he wants to kill him, but he doesn't want to tell the truth about what happened to the princess because he has to release himself before he can do so. Lin reminds him that when he killed his son, he thought it was too hard, but now he realizes that he can stab him dozens of times but still keep him alive.
