This chapter opens with a look at the wanted poster. It's a foreigner, wanted for killing a bird and his son, and for trying to kill a man named Su. Su says he doesn't understand why he's so afraid of killing the foreigner. He's just a maniac. Su tells Su that if anyone from the government comes to stay at the hotel, then he'll run away. Su explains that he can't sell his lanterns anymore, because they're still not selling very well. He also says that he has seen some new skin on a corpse at the government office. Su points out that the foreigner's skin isn't good, and that's why he should rip it off. Su then says he tried his best to teach the foreigner everything he knew, but that he was "twisted" by Su's behavior. Su leaves to go to the cows, and Su asks if he can take in another person. Su replies that it's better if they go their separate ways soon, since they don't yet know each other.
