In this chapter, we learn that Sam and Henry's relationship has been going on for a long time. When Sam first met Henry, he was interested in him, and asked him if he was in love with another woman. When Henry responded that he was, Sam began to notice how Henry looked at him and how Sam clung to him. Sam feels that he has found out something he was not supposed to know, and that he doesn't understand the relationship between Henry and Sam. He feels that it is normal to think that they are just weird anyway, but he is not saying it is bad. He says that he does not want to get into a "lover's spat," but he does want to know what is going on. When he hears that his mother has died, he is very upset. He wants to see her smile, and he wants to know if she is coming home soon to see him. He is also upset because he has not seen his father in so long.
