In this chapter, we learn that Henry and Jessica have broken up, and that they are now living together in a hotel in New York City. When Henry asks why, he is told that it is because of his roommate, who is on a honeymoon with another man. He also learns that they exchanged numbers, but he does not know why they are texting each other. He tells Henry that he is jealous of his friend's love for another woman. He then tells him that he has promised to meet Jessica if it makes her uncomfortable, and she agrees to meet him if he feels uncomfortable. When they arrive at the hotel, they find that Henry has already left for a bar, but that he bought some cake and cheese for himself. He asks if he was surprised that he wanted to see him, and he says that he did not have any reason to be surprised. When he asks if she came because she wanted to hear from him, she says that she did not want to hear anything from him
