About This Chapter
The narrator laments that Henry has left him a lot of things. He asks Henry to pick them up before the nineteenth, but Henry refuses, saying that he's too busy to do so. The narrator asks Henry why he always catches him at odd times like this, and Henry tells him that it's because Henry is always trying to send him a text message, which he'll do when he feels "like it." The narrator is surprised that Henry hasn't responded to his text message yet, and he asks why Henry always seems to catch him at these odd times. Henry tells the narrator that he was coming up, but that he didn't see the doorbell, so he watched everything from a security monitor. Henry is surprised to find that the doorbell is not in the same room as the living room, and that the room is not the same size as the kitchen. He's surprised that the narrator has given him a gift, but he is also surprised that he has received a gift from a boy his own age. Henry says that he would have given him alcohol if he hadn't asked for the gift, and the narrator says that's fine, since he doesn't drink. He says that the gift is "fun," and that he can't wait to get home and "make himself at home." Henry says he'd rather have the gift than have him make fun of him again, but the narrator is offended by his request, and says that if he ever gave flowers to someone, he would never ask for them again. He tells Henry that he won't fight him if he tries to "fight an old guy" like him, and asks him to stop "making fun" of him. Henry asks if he can move his clothes, which are wet, and his clothes are wet. He wonders if they're just going to eat, watch a movie
