About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's been waiting for Henry to come back to the U.S. and that he wants to sit next to him. He says that he and Henry used to go to school together and that it's nice to see them get back together. He's not sure why, but he thinks that it must be because they're in love. The narrator says that she's just watching him, and that she doesn't care what other people think of her, but that she looks at him and thinks, "This is love ! mo' so." The narrator asks why the hell Henry is so interested in her, and the narrator says, "I don't have a reason." He asks the narrator why he was so excited about school, and she says that it was fun because he was wearing his "nostalgia goggles" on too tight. She asks him why he'd been so excited to see the guys back in Europe, and he says that all he wanted to do was come home and see them. He tells the narrator that whenever Henry called him, he would say, "How's Henry?" . He also says that Henry never answered his phone, so the narrator can't get to him on his own. He wants to know what's going on between Henry and Sam. He asks if they'd be the same, and then he asks if there's something going on with them that they've never even heard of. Then he asks, "What about those two?" , and when he hears the answer, he realizes that he has no idea what to think.
