In this chapter, we learn that Mingyue Music is in need of new staff, and that little nian has come to ask for a job. Mingyue announces that they have invited a famous pianist named Shen Luoan to play a song for them. The piano player won a gold medal at the piano competition in the city last year, and Mingyue wants to know why this song sounds so similar to the song she played for her lover. She tells Mingyue that she wrote this song because she was sad when she had to leave her lover to go abroad to study alone. She also wants Mingyue to know that this song was written for him when he was still a student in the country, and she would like to tell him about it when he is finished with his study abroad. She then asks if anyone thinks that the songs she played are similar to songs by other famous pianists, and they all agree that they think so.
