In this chapter, the Emperor of China tries to keep peace between the different factions in the court. He tells Duolin that he will help him gain forgiveness from his master, and be admitted back as one of Duolin's students. Duolin asks him if he feels guilty about the fake death of his master. The Emperor replies that he is not guilty of such a thing. He asks Duolin if it is possible for them to meet again, and Duolin replies that they would better be prepared for a storm. He then apologizes for his bad manners, but asks that Duolin not hurt the Prime Minister.
