The king replies that they are to blame for yuanmeis death, and that they should forget all their grudges. He asks the man if he wants to die with him, to which the man replies, "You know there is nothing between us and yuanmei, but you pretend to be jealous". The man then asks if the man wants to be his consort forever. The woman replies that she can be her consort forever after the wedding.
