The two of them had a conversation about destiny, and the prince revealed that he had given up his title of the crown prince for the prince. The prince explained that he fell in love with the prince many years before, when he was a teacher and a student of the prince's. When they met again, the prince was surprised to find that the prince had been condescending and mean to the prince, and that he was wearing a tortoise design on his robe. He explained that if he were to fall for someone, he would have no idea how to please them, because one is "pressing hard" and the other is "keeping off" with his heart "flipped."
