About This Chapter
The narrator tells Larry that the limited edition of his book is on sale. He tells her that he wants to buy his own robot so that his childhood dreams of being rich will be fulfilled. He says that bringing up a girl in affluence is reasonable, because it will allow her to develop good character and habits when she grows up. A viewer once wrote that his twenty-year old daughter was too materialistic. The narrator says that this is not possible, because she has already taught her against it. Larry tells the narrator that he should not wait until her child is old enough to regret his or her parents' failure to provide her with the things she needs. She says that parents should provide their children with what they need, even if it means that they have to borrow money to pay for rent, food, school, and other expenses.
