This chapter opens with a description of the new monster, which is said to be a creature who steals souls. The monster is described as being ferocious, and it is said that the monster's master is about to execute the creature in public. Shu xing, the monster hunter, hears this news and decides to go to the scene to see the new creature. He tells his friend that he has caught the creature and that he will kill it in public in order to get justice for the souls that have been stolen. He also tells Shu that he knows that the creature belongs to the former one, the one who stole the soul of his mother. Shu tells him that he can tell whether the creature is in the original form or has been disguised. He then tells Shu to kill him and then kill all the souls in the area. Shu then tells him to find out about the rumor about him and prove his innocence.
