In this chapter, we learn that guan has borrowed money to open a sports club, and that he is eager to repay it. He also tells us how much money he will need to borrow to pay back the loan, and how he will be able to do so in three more days. He then tells us about how his favorite author would give him money every day, and tell him to spend it the way he likes. He says that if he were a rich man, he would marry him at once, but he knows that he isn't rich enough to do that. He wants to strengthen his brain, so he asks guan about a supplement that will help him do so. guan tells him that the supplement will strengthen his kidney, and the two of them eavesdrop on the conversation. They find out that the author is from a wealthy family, and guan promises that he will give them money.
