In this chapter, we learn that Myeong-Seong did not take any pictures of her grandmother. She was left out of her family, and she was lonely. The narrator tells us that pictures of grandmothers around the world were all fakes. Myeong Seong asks if she is curious about her grandmother, and the narrator tells her that she is very curious. She tells him that she knows people like him very well, and that he should hand over his sachet and leave the country immediately. She says that the more he knows, the more danger he will be in. She shows him to her grandmother's room and tells him to go there whenever he needs anything. He says that he has a lot on his mind, and he is just leaving for a short trip. He asks her why she is going on such a sudden trip, but she says that her grandmother is still in her hand. She asks if there is anything else in the sachet that she does not know about. The owner of the antique shop was convinced that the sachet was the one in the Empress. She wonders why the people are trying to get the sachet, and wonders if the only reason they are doing this is because of something that may not exist. She wants to get out of the house tomorrow.
