In this short scene, Hirokazu's mother tells her son not to worry about running away from school because he's already done his homework. He'll have to come back to school and do his homework, she tells him. She also tells him that if he doesn't show up to school on time, he can forget about the music academy and focus on his studies at home. He tells her that he'll send him abroad to compete with the other talented students at the school. He says that he wants to be a stand-in for a girl who's in love with a friend and that she's going to die in the cold if she stays inside. He also warns her that if she leaves the cold outside, she'll catch a cold and die. He adds that he can tell that she has a heart and that even she can't figure out what's wrong with her. He reminds her that she promised to be by his side when she was suffering in silence. She says that she can tell when she is suffering because she always has been by her side. She adds that she knows that he has the first thing on his mind and that his only option is to fall for her in her silence.
